An airport worker has been applauded for stopping a catering cart from spinning erratically in to a parked plane outside a Chicago airport yesterday.
Dr Kevin Klauer filmed the moment the vehicle's 'accelerator became stuck', according to United Airlines, causing it to perform doughnuts as it span around in a circle at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.
One female worker is sent flying backwards when the vehicle, which is thought to belong to United Airlines, slams in to her.
A case of water fell on to the accelerator pedal while its driver was away from the wheel, Dr Klauer says.
As eight airport ramp workers watch on helplessly cans of drink fall from the cart and explode on to the concrete.
A man, who colleagues say was Jorge Jorry Raymundo Manalang, runs towards the spinning cart before ducking around it and disappearing from shot.
As it inches closer to a grey jet Dr Klauer says: 'It's going to hit the airplane here it goes.'
Suddenly Mr Manalang starts up the engine of a second vehicle and ploughs in in to the side of the catering van - stopping it in its tracks.
