Boris Johnson was left speechless today as he claimed he has never heard of TV presenter Naga Munchetty or the row over her comments on Donald .

BBC Breakfast host Ms Munchetty was initially deemed to have breached editorial guidelines when she condemned 's claims that female Democrats should 'go back' to their own countries - but the BBC's decision was then overturned last night.

During one of his TV and radio interviews this morning, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was asked what he made of the row over her comments.

But the Prime Minister replied that he didn't know who Ms Munchetty was and is completely unaware of ongoing row surrounding her actions.

Mr Johnson was quizzed over the issue by LBC radio host Nick Ferrari this morning, after they had discussed Brexit.

Mr Ferrari said: 'Another woman that has appeared in the headlines is Naga Munchetty, did she breach editorial guidelines at the BBC by calling Donald a racist?'

A dumbfounded Mr Johnson replied: 'I'm so sorry, I just don't, I've just never heard...'

Mr Ferrari asked: 'You've never heard of Naga Munchetty, the row over racism?'

Mr Johnson then looked at his team of advisers in the studio as he struggled to answer.

He said: 'I'm so sorry. You're going to have to forgive me, er. I should know about Naga Munchetty. Does anybody know about about Naga Munchetty, hands up... you know about Naga Munchetty.'

Mr Ferrari told him: 'Your whole team is putting their hands up, Prime Minister.'
