A dementia patient has been charged after he allegedly called the police 500 times in just one day. 

Van Tran, from Sydney, in NSW, claims he doesn't remember making any of the calls.

But New South Wales police have defended charging the 60-year-old, saying they won't allow people to 'tie up' their services.
