A mayor in Chile took a novel approach to skirting questions from journalists as she quite literally ran away from them. 

Reporters were attempting to interview the mayor of Providencia commune Evelyn Matthei, 65, while walking down the street on Thursday when she suddenly took off without warning and sped away from them in an impressive turn of pace. 

The peculiar incident took place in the municipality of Providencia, in the central Chilean region of Santiago.
