A dead 70-year-old recluse was left to rot inside his home as heartless thieves repeatedly ransacked the property for months. 

Police found the man's body inside the Lynwood home, in Perth's southeast, on Monday after a neighbour reported seeing suspicious activity.

It is believed the crooks had broken into the property to take what they wanted multiple times but never called police
