A man in China has had two live leeches removed from his nostril and throat after they spent more than two months inside his body without him noticing.
The patient, who has not been named, went to the hospital after coughing non-stop during the period, doctors said.
He claimed to have coughed up phlegm and blood.

The man's condition was reported by Wuping County Hospital in the city of Longyan, south-eastern China's Fujian Province.
He went to the the hospital's respiratory department on Friday and an initial CT scan did not show anything unusual.
Medics then gave him a bronchoscopy, which is a procedure that lets doctors examine one's lungs and air passages.
The check revealed two live leeches inside him, one in his right nostril and the other about three centimetres (1.2 inches) below his glottis, the part of the larynx consisting of the vocal cords and the opening between them.
