An acid attack has taken place by Borough Market today, just yards from the horrific terror attack on London Bridge 48 hours ago which rocked the capital as Londoners remain on high alert.

Witnesses said it took place just outside a Sainsbury's and police cars and fire engines rushed to the scene to douse the teenager with water.

A witness said on Twitter that 'nowhere feels safe' after the string of violence this week in London.
