Angelo Jurado-Marmolejo has been reunited with his mother in Britain today
A nine-year-old boy from Bristol who has been missing since March has been located in Spain and reunited with his mother.
Angelo Jurado-Marmolejo was recovered by the Spanish authorities at Madrid airport on Saturday, after he got off a flight from Mexico with his father Rafael Jurado-Marmolejo.
Mr Jurado-Cabello, who was wanted on suspicion of child abduction, has been detained under the terms of a European Arrest Warrant.
Angelo's mother Karol confirmed from her home in a phone conversation today she had been reunited with her son.
She said: 'I'm in shock still at the moment. It happened this weekend. It was totally unexpected and it's the best Christmas present I could have wished for.
'Angelo's okay and I'm now trying to make up for all the time we were apart from each other.
'I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart all the people who lent their support during these long nearly-nine months.
'There's so many emotions going through me at the moment and I don't want to go into too much detail at the moment about how we were reunited and exactly what's happening at the moment.
'To do that I'd have to have my head in the right place and at the moment I'm feeling very emotional and in shock.
'What I will say is that it's wonderful to have Angelo back.'
