The shattered parents of twin sisters who died as they slept next to them in bed 'are going through hell', the girls' grandfather has revealed.
Violet and Indiana died after being found unconscious in bed with blankets covering them in their Sunnybank Hills home, south Brisbane, early last Wednesday.
The first picture of the newborns has emerged after a GoFundMe page titled 'RIP Twin Angels' was set up to help their parents cover the cost of the funeral for their six-week-old twins.
The grieving mother and father made a brave return to their family home in the days after the incident, collecting necessities for their two older kids as relatives rally around them.
The twins' grandfather accompanied the couple as they returned home and said one of the most difficult things would be explaining to their two surviving children what had happened to their new siblings.

'It's every parent's worst nightmare what they are facing... they've been through hell,' he told Daily Mail Australia.
'They've got two other children to who they have to explain what has happened.
'It's both their privilege and their responsibility as parents to have to do that, but it is incredibly heartbreaking.'
In just three days more than $7,500 has been donated to the GoFundMe page, with organisers aiming to hit the $20,000 mark.
'Violet and Indiana were tragically lost this week in Brisbane. They leave behind a big sister, big brother and two heartbroken parents,' organiser Kieran Garratt wrote.
'These Angels graced us for only six beautiful weeks but have created such a hole since their passing.
