A restaurant and bar popular with celebrities including Ed Sheeran and Mel Gibson is being forced to close after to a 'hostile takeover' from their landlord.
Pelicano in Sydney's ritzy Double Bay will shut on December 28 despite becoming one of the city's most sought-after nightlife spots since opening in 2012.
Other famous stars to have frequented the pop art-themed restaurant include Hollywood actor Gerard Butler, James Blunt and Cara Delevingne's sister Poppy.
Pelicano co-owner Andrew Becher said their landlord was pushing them out but the building owners claim it is in need of urgent renovations.
