An Indianapolis family are in mourning after a groom was shot and killed while out at his own bachelor party.
Christopher Smith, 41, was at Jake's Pub with his family when a man with a gun walked into the venue on Friday night.
Smith jumped up and tried to tackle the man in an attempt to prevent him harming anyone, but was shot in the process.
Indianapolis police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.
When IMPD officers arrived at the pub, they found two men had been shot, but Smith had been fatally wounded.
According to witnesses there were numerous people inside the bar at the time of the shooting.
'They had yelled out, "This guy has got a gun. Call the cops, this guy has got a gun." When they did that, my brother-in-law jumped up and tried to charge the guy to try and keep him from doing anything,' said Shanon Singer-Mann, Smith's future sister-in-law to Fox 59.
Shortly before 10pm a gunman walked into the venue and Smith charged at him
