Boris Johnson begged Donald to pull out of a planned interview with Piers Morgan during his pre-Election visit to London last week, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The Prime Minister spoke to Mr on the phone and made clear he believed his entire campaign to stay in No 10 could be derailed by an upset involving the President.

Mr jetted into London on Air Force One last Monday to attend Nato's 70th anniversary celebrations at Downing Street and Buckingham Palace.
