Two suspects have been arrested over the death of a Starbucks customer after he chased a thief who snatched his laptop.
The victim, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, died from head injuries in hospital on Tuesday after being struck by the suspect's black SUV as it sped away in Oakland, California.
Witnesses described how a gang of three masked men, one who grabbed the laptop, one who held the coffee shop door open and another who drove the getaway vehicle, carried out the theft.
The victim ran out of the building and chased after the thief to try and get his laptop back but was hit by the suspect's vehicle as it sped away.
A woman who saw the dramatic scenes described how the victim did a 'Superman dive' into the suspect's black SUV before a struggle saw him thrown out of the car.
The incident happened at around 11.30am at at the Starbucks in the 2000 block of Mountain Boulevard, Montclair Village.

The victim was sitting inside doing work on his computer when one man in a dark hoodie grabbed his laptop and ran to a car waiting outside.
Witnesses said the victim reached for the door handle as it was moving, which resulted in him slamming his head into a parked car.
The car then sped off, according to bystanders who saw the encounter as they stood outside.
Cops said the man was found injured on the roadway in the 6100 block of Antioch Street, which was near the Starbucks' location.
'He was bleeding only from the head. His face was purple and blue,' Maria Chan, a florist shop owner across the street, told KTVU.
She added: 'His body [is] still in my mind. Such a young man. It's not worth it to chase after the laptop.'
A witness who only gave her name as Julie said she was with her daughter sitting next to a young man working on his laptop near the front door of the Starbucks, when the incident unfolded.
She said the victim have chase and dived through the window of the getaway car as it began to drive off.
