Dramatic body cam footage has revealed how police rescued a woman who had been smashed in the face with a tire iron and kidnapped at knifepoint in Alabama.

Sean E Sanders, 51, who told police he has multiple prior arrests for assault and kidnapping, was Tased by police after trying to run over an officer during a dramatic standoff.

The violent criminal shoved his victim into his white 1997 Ford Aerostar Cargo van which had chained doors and a cage in the back. Its windows were covered with blankets so no one could see inside.

Police were first called after the woman was seen bleeding from the head while screaming, 'help he's going to kill me,' as she was forced into the vehicle.
