A family was shocked to find a kangaroo in their swimming pool over the new year period after the marsupial jumped in to cool off in the hot weather. 

Our Haven Wildlife Shelter was called to the house in Rosedale, Victoria and removed the kangaroo with the help of SES volunteers who were already in the area. 

'It's cooler in the pool than outside,' an observer can be heard saying, as the marsupial floated in the water, in video uploaded to Facebook on December 29.
