Solid-gold Brexit coins priced at £945 each sold out by lunch time today after going on sale this morning.

The commemorative coins - sold by the Royal Mint - were part of a limited edition of 1,500. 

Brexiteers looking for memorabilia faced a queuing system to access the Royal Mint's website today.

A two-piece coin set, priced at £30, has also sold out after 5,000 units were made. 

It features a 50p from 1973 marking the year Britain joined the European Economic Community and another 50p marking the UK's departure from the EU. 

Each shopper could only buy three of the silver coins - sold for £60 - after 47,000 were
