Horrifying moment a Californian woman is dragged 150ft by robbers

Police in California are searching for two female suspects after a 67-year-old woman was dragged 150ft through a parking lot by thieves trying to take her purse. 

The Anaheim Police Department released the shocking surveillance footage on Thursday which showed the woman being pulled behind a speeding car as she tried to keep a grip on the bag. 

The victim, Imelda Niess, said she simply had too many important things in her purse to afford letting it go. 

She received numerous abrasions all over her body but came out with her purse in tact, with thanks to her rugged determination to keep hold.

Police look for help in identifying this woman they believe is a suspect

Police released a video of two woman, one pictured above, they believe to be suspects in the attempted robbery

These two women were identified as suspects by Niess from Walmart surveillance footage where they were seen shortly before the attempted robbery in the parking lot

'They picked on the wrong person,' Niess told CBS Los Angeles. 

'They picked the wrong person because I could be an older woman but I'm very strong. 

She added that while she was hurt after being dropped on the asphalt, she did not cry but swore angrily at the women.  

The attempted robbery happened on around 8.10 am on Thursday, February 13, in the parking lot of a Walmart, located in the 400 Block of North Euclid Street. 

The video shows Niess returning to her car and placing her purchases inside when a white four-door Nissan drove up alongside her.  

Police believe the car may have been a Nissan Sedan and that it had temporary licence plates.  

The passenger in the approaching car leaned her arm outside the window and grabbed Niess' purse from her arm. 

The car then attempted to speed off but Niess refused to let go of the purse.
