A high school ice hockey player from Pennsylvania has been taunted with hateful chants and a crude poster - all because she's the only female on her team. 

Alyssa Wruble, 17, was competing in a championship playoff game for Northampton last week when spectators for the opposing team began making the sexist comments from the sidelines. 

'When I skated over all I head was 'Wruble, you're a dude!' and apparently my uncle and my father also heard them saying that I have a penis,' the teen told Fox 29 on Tuesday. 

One spectator from the opposition - a club team associated with Parkland High School - even held up a shocking sign which directly targeted Wruble. 

'Alyssa - Gender Reveal,' the poster read, accompanied by a question mark and the Mars and Venus symbols. 

'I get you can talk smack and stuff, but you don't have to go directly at someone and body parts of what they do and don't have,' Wruble said of the incident.

Meanwhile, her mom, Heidi, stated: ''No parent wants a sign like that about their child made about them... It's a game, it's intense, but when you are coming at one particular player in such a way its brutal.'
