16-year-old wanted in motel shooting that left 1 teen dead, 1 hurt, cops say

Several days after a shooting at motel left one teenager dead and another injured, police say they have identified the shooter.

On Monday, police said they were asking for the community’s help in finding 16-year-old Nicolas Al Mondesir. Mondesir is 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

A warrant has been issued for the teen’s arrest on charges of premeditated murder and attempted murder, police say.

The shooting happened Thursday at The Holiday Motel, 1804 Funston St.

According to police, a 911 call came in around 10:30 p.m. Thursday reporting a possible shooting.

When officers arrived they found two teenagers, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where the boy died. The girl’s current condition is not known.

Police did not say how Mondesir knew the victims, but did say “all parties involved in this incident are known to each other. “
