An alleged drunk driver destroyed six gravestones after losing control of his car and slamming into a cemetery.

The 38-year-old man allegedly crashed through the fence of Richmond Presbyterian cemetery, in Sydney's northwestern outskirts, at about 10.50pm on Wednesday.  

After failing to see the bend, police allege the driver veered onto the wrong side of the road and smashed through a fence.
