State of Origin, the highlight of the season for countless footy fans, has finally arrived - in Adelaide of all places and in November - when NSW tackle Queensland in the series opener on Wednesday night.
Kick-off is at 8.10pm (AEDT), with Brad Fittler's Blues the red hot favourites chasing three successive series wins against the Maroons who will be rank outsiders.
The Adelaide Oval hosts the interstate match for the first time since the concept was launched in 1980 with the series being played after the regular season due to COVID-19 disruptions.
The faithful have already been spotted in droves making their way to the traditional cricket ground in the City of Churches - as rugby league looks to spread its wings in another state.
