Forgetting to put on sunscreen for a day out on the water has left a young Queensland woman with horrific scars after she made the fatal mistake of covering it with a sticky bandage.
Leanne Whyte continues to suffer the painful consequences a week after her 'silly mistake' and still can't lie on her back due to her bad sunburn.
She's also had to take time off work and fork out several hundreds dollars for medical treatment.
Ms Whyte shared her story on an online discussion group for other women to learn from her story, including the one thing not to do if your skin begins to blister.

'Girls, please remember to put on sunscreen,' the Sunshine Coast woman started the Facebook post.
'In the past week, I've had to take time off work and attend treatment clinics which have left me a couple hundred out of pocket and excruciating pain for such a silly mistake.'
Ms Whyte recalled how she went out on her mum's boat last Saturday and was left red raw from two hours of sun exposure.
