Instagram traveller turns to OnlyFans while in Brisbane hotel quarantine

A Brazilian-born Gold Coast Instagram star has created an OnlyFans account in a bid to make money while she's stuck in hotel quarantine.

Leila Burate, 27, will call the Westin Hotel in Brisbane home for the next two weeks after Queensland Health forced 127 people to quarantine again as it moved to contain the highly contagious UK strain of the coronavirus.

Ms Burate had just completed a two-week stint at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, only to be told she would be placed in lockdown for another 14 days.

She told Daily Mail Australia on Friday the decision left her in 'disbelief' and forced her to join the adult site to pass the time, earn some extra cash and stop herself from feeling depressed.

'I created an OnlyFans page on January 3, early in my first time in quarantine,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

'A friend suggested I give it some thought and things went from there.

'My partner Fabian is supportive of me doing it, we discussed it.

'I haven't been able to work in Australia since May last year due to Covid, I have to do something.'

Ms Burate confirmed she is posing nude for subscribers on OnlyFans as well as in racy and bikinis. She is currently in the 'top 2.6 per cent' on the website, with fans seemingly increasing by the hour.

She was moved to the Westin this week after six guests at the Hotel Grand Chancellor contracted the B.1.1.7 strain of Covid-19.

'I was supposed to check out at 10.30am on Wednesday but I was given a call at 8.30am to tell me I was to be moved to the Westin for another 14 days quarantine,' Burate told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

'With my bags packed I asked if I could please leave the hotel as I had done my two weeks but the next thing I know I'm being told I must get into an ambulance and taken to another hotel in full PPE gear, like I was infectious.

'We were treated like we were all sick, but I had done two tests in Brazil, both negative and two tests since I had returned. I can't see why they didn't let me leave to self-isolate at home.'

Burate was born in Brazil before settling on the Gold Coast six years ago. She has approved permanent residency, with her partner an Australian citizen.
