Two Indiana high school students are killed in a car crash on their way to prom Kalen Hart, 18, and her boyfriend Lendon Byram died after crashing into another vehicle in Arcadia, about 40 miles north of Indianapolis, on Saturday night  The couple were on their way to Hart's senior prom at Hamilton Heights High School at the time  Her boyfriend, who was driving at the time, was a junior at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis  Two other students who were in the backseat of the car were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries  Police are still investigating the crash but said it didn't initially appear as if alcohol or drugs played a role in the wreck

Two Indiana high school students were killed in a car crash on their way to prom at the weekend.

Kalen Hart, 18, and her boyfriend Lendon Byram died after crashing into an SUV in Arcadia, about 40 miles north of Indianapolis, on Saturday night.

The couple were on their way to Hart's senior prom at Hamilton Heights High School at the time.

Her boyfriend, who was driving at the time, was a junior at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. 

Two other students who were in the backseat of their Honda were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was also a high school student but they declined medical treatment. 

Both of the cars ended up in a field as a result of the crash.

Police are still investigating the crash but said it didn't initially appear as if alcohol or drugs
