Agents from the FBI have shot a man outside the front gates to the CIA in Langley, Virginia, following a standoff on Monday evening.

The threat by an intruder, was being dealt with by the spy agency's guard force but then the FBI was also summoned to the scene.
Initially, security personnel were said to be negotiating with the suspect while they remained in their vehicle, but the standoff then ended with FBI agents shooting the man.
