Jetstar has launched a flash sale offering jetsetters flights across Australia for as little as $55 and the chance to snap up return flights for free.

The budget airline's 'return for free' sale starts at midnight on Wednesday, giving travel bugs access to 340,000 fares for routes across the country.

The sale - which will last until 11.59pm on Thursday unless sold out earlier - includes popular routes like Melbourne to Sydney and Brisbane to Uluru.
