A father-of-two has won a life changing luxury Cotswolds mansion worth £2.5m after entering a charity prize draw for just £25, and is now set to live alongside celebrities in the countryside.

Darren Wordon, who lives in Bath, saw the prize draw advertised on TV in May to help raise funds for the Prince's Trust charity.

The 49-year-old purchased the £25 bundle, but never expected to scoop the big prize, landing him in the famous Chipping Norton set alongside celebrities who divide their time between the picturesque countryside and the city.

But now, he and his wife Mandy, 48, and two children Maddison, 20 and Matthew, 17, can count the likes of David and Victoria Beckham as neighbours after winning the seven bedroom property on 2.3 acres of land.

In recent years, the area has become the epicentre of the 'Chipping Norton Set', the constellation of political, media and showbusiness luminaries who divide their time between and their farm-style homes.

They include celebrities such as telly presenter Jeremy Clarkson, the Beckhams, Amanda Holden and pop star Alex James, plus former Prime Minister David Cameron, Elisabeth Murdoch (daughter of Rupert) and JCB heir Lord Bamford.

This is also home to Soho Farmhouse, the country branch of the Soho House club chain (which is what lured the Sussexes to the area).

Darren and his family moved to the UK five years ago from Johannesburg, south Africa, and are currently living in a three-bedroom detached house in Bath.

He said the prize is 'life changing' and that 'this kind of thing just doesn't happen to people like us.'

'I saw the advert on TV and hearing more about the incredible work The Prince's Trust does for young people, I was inspired to enter the draw,' he said.

'Having two children myself, ensuring young people have the support and opportunities to thrive means a lot to me.
