Schools were put into lockdown after a teenager was stabbed and police hunt for the attacker.   

Emergency services were called to a serious assault on Collingsway, in Darlington, County Durham, at around 12.45pm on Monday afternoon.

A boy in his mid-teens was found with stab wounds and he was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Police said a suspect has been identified and an operation is currently under way to make an arrest.
