A convicted killer is still on the run in Queensland after a dangerous car chase saw him escape from the police for the second time in a week.

Murderer Alan Lace has been in hiding since Friday after he ripped off his electronic tag and fled into the bush when police tried to arrest him. 

A police tracker dog, Rambo, was killed by a passing car as he tried to pursue Lace as he fled on foot.

Now Lace, 53, has again evaded capture after a police car chase near Maryborough had to be abandoned when it became too dangerous to continue.

Three other people have been charged in connection with the incident.
