Behar and her colleagues were discussing Carl Nassib's announcement on their ABC show when she kicked off the segment saying: 'I know he's the first active NFL player ever to come as gay but come on it's 2021, is this such a big deal?' Then, after being told by her co-hosts that it was a big deal, she joked: 'You know after they said penetration in the end zone they lost me.’ Scroll down for video Joy Behar and her The View co-hosts colleagues were discussing Carl Nassib's announcement on their ABC show when she kicked off the segment saying: 'I know he's the first active NFL player ever to come as gay but come on it's 2021, is this such a big deal?' Later, Behar made some attempt to apologize for the crudeness of her joke but she stood by her sentiment that the announcement shouldn't get as much attention. One said it was time for Behar to resign, writing: 'Gay jokes were NEVER funny. Get a clue'. Another fumed: 'What would happen if a conservative made a statement like this? 'The media would blow up!' A third user said: 'Just watched Joy Behar on The View simply dismiss an off color joke about a gay NFL player. Hmm, I guess it's that easy to brush off homophobic humor.'
