McDonald's enthusiasts are fuming over a national shortage of Chicken Selects after the fast-food chain admitted running out of the popular item.
Customers desperate to bag themselves Chicken Selects this week have been left disappointed after finding the meal is unavailable.
Signs confirming the shortage have appeared in some of its 1,450 restaurants in the UK, from parts of Wales to Manchester and Lincoln.
Customers have also reported that the Big Flavour Chicken Wrap and the Chicken Deluxe Burger have been unavailable to order - fuelling rumours that the shortage is restricted not just to selects, but chicken dishes.
The crisis has sparked comparisons to the great KFC chicken shortage of 2018, which forced the chain to temporarily close more than 850 restaurants in the UK due to a single point-of-failure in the supply chain.
A McDonald's spokesman has admitted there is a 'temporary shortage' and apologised to its customers. However, the extent of the crisis remains unknown,
