President Joe Biden pushed for Democrat California Rep. Maxine Waters to run for the Senate and told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to 'keep it up' during a series of hot mic moments at a bill signing on Wednesday night.
'Senator, I hope. You think I'm kidding, I'm not,' Biden said Wednesday when speaking to Waters about her future and Illinois Democratic Rep. Jesus 'Chuy' Garcia.
Waters, 82, seemed surprised and then shrugged her shoulders.
The Republican National Committee jumped on the comment and slammed Biden for suggesting he wanted the 'far-left, anti-police' Waters to go for the upper house.
Waters sparked outrage in April when she told protesters in Minneapolis to 'stay on the street', be 'more confrontational' and that she wanted a guilty verdict before the end of Derek Chauvin's trial.
