A 'middle-aged' man is tonight fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed in the middle of Oxford Street.
The victim was rushed to a central London hospital after sustaining knife injuries at the junction of Regent Street at 8pm. He remains in a critical condition.
Metropolitan Police arrested a 25-year-old man at the scene after he was detained by members of the public who were nearby during the daylight stabbing.
The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening.
