A former soldier and loving father-of-two has been told he has just weeks to live after finding a cancerous lump on his testicle.
Brendan Nikolajew, 29, has faced many battles in his life, including several tours in war-torn Afghanistan.
Now he is facing his biggest one yet after he was given the shocking news he will die from terminal cancer in just a matter of weeks.
Mr Nikolajew, who lives in Queensland's Moreton Bay, was first diagnosed with cancer after discovering a lump on his testicle three-and-a-half years ago.
The cancer was successfully treated before doctors discovered it had spread to other parts of his body in November, 2020.
'People say when you die, you're going to a better place,' Mr Nikolajew said.
'I don't understand how a place without my wife, kids, family and everyone else I love is a better place.'

Mr Nikolajew has remained positive in spite of the grave prognosis and documented his gruelling fight to survive on social media.
His wife Leah and children Georgie, four, and Roman, one, have stood by him every step of the way.
Mr Nikolajew has battled through several rounds of chemotherapy, contended with a serious infection that nearly led to sepsis and pulled through a Deep Vein Thrombosis - a blood clot that forms in the vein and that can lead to death.
'The DVT blood clot put me in ICU over Christmas 2018 and into 2019,' he
