Newly-released video footage shows cop killer socialite Jasmine Hartin blasting a watermelon to pieces with a perfectly-aimed shot - and hanging from the ceiling of a bar.

The clip, shared with 7 News Belize on Thursday, showed 32 year-old Hartin - accused of the manslaughter of police Superintendent Henry Jemmott - taking aim with a 12-gauge shotgun at a watermelon impaled on stakes on a paradise beach.

She easily strikes the foodstuff with the weapon, spraying the fruits' bright red flesh through the air.

Afterwards, Hartin - who was wearing a black halter neck top for the outing - turns to smile at the camera, then pretends to blow smoke of the gun barrel.

Other photos showed her during separate visits to shooting ranges, with 7 News saying the images gave the impression that Hartin is a 'masterful' markswoman.

And the TV station also shared footage of her confidently clambering into the rafters of a beach-hut style bar, before plonking herself down on a saddle suspended from its roof, before dancing while sitting down.

7 News speculated that the damaging images had been shared to try and prevent Hartin, who is from Canada, from regaining custody of her children - a twin boy and girl aged four.

After being released from a notorious Belizean prison on bail last month, Hartin was filmed confronting her common-law husband Andrew Ashcroft about why he wouldn't let her see their two young children.

Andrew Ashcroft's father is British billionaire businessman Lord Michael Ashcroft, with the shooting scandal heaping disgrace upon the powerful family.

Hartin fears the embarrassing images were released to stop her seeing her children, a twin boy and girl aged four

Hartin accused her husband and in-laws of abandoning her in the wake of Jemmott's killing. She said it was accidental, and happened while he was showing her how to use his gun.

Hartin claims no-one from the family of her former partner Andrew Ashcroft visited her while she was on bail over the shooting because they had been told they couldn't have 'bad press associated with their reputation'.

The mother-of-two, 32, was released from jail on bail for a second time on June 30 as she awaits trial for shooting Superintendent Henry Jemmott, a father-of-five, with his own service pistol in May, which she says was an accident.

Speaking to

"7 News Belize's Cherisse Halsall, Hartin said the Ashcroft family was told to 'distance' themselves from her, adding that she wasn't allowed to speak to her infant twins while she was in Belize Central Prison.

She said although she has had a 'complicated' seven-year relationship with Ashcroft - the son of Lord Ashcroft - with many 'ups and downs', she has been 'shocked' about the Ashcroft family's treatment of her since her arrest.

She added: 'Even with all of that though, I can't believe how I've been treated.'

It is unclear whether the family accept the claims. They have been approached and asked to provide a comment.

In the new interview following her release on bail on Wednesday, Hartin said: 'From what I've been told by the family, they were instructed to distance themselves from me immediately.

'That they couldn't have bad press associated with their reputation, so therefore, I wasn't - I didn't have any family come to visit me in jail, I didn't have any family call me.

'Instead a couple of friends came to see me, but never once was I allowed to speak to the children during that time.'

Hartin said that her brother tried to call her from Canada while her mother was 'worried sick' while she was in jail, but claimed that Ashcroft told them that she had visitors every single day - which she said was 'exaggerated'.

Her full interview with the local news channel will air on 7 News Belize's evening television program on Thursday.

Her comments came after a family friend, who is believed to have secured her release from prison by posting bail for her, claimed Hartin had been 'thrown to the wolves'.

Wendy Auxillou told MailOnline that Hartin has been denied access to her children and locked out of her home.

Auxillou said she posted Hartin's
