A Melbourne nightclub has been fined more than $10,000 after breaching Covid-19 rules and hosting a maskless dance party with up to 1,000 people.

Police were called to the party at Riva on Marine Parade, in St Kilda, at 10.15pm on Saturday.

Video footage from the night showed the club packed wall to wall with partygoers dancing along to a DJ and disregarding social distancing and face mask rules.
