Justin Lacey, 39, owner of Laceys Boxing Gym in Perth, was swimming with his family in Bottle Bay, off the city's coast when he saw the shark. Video footage posted by Mr Lacey on his Tik Tok on Friday shows the tiger shark precariously close to him and his three children aged 8, 6 and 3. Justin Lacey caught his close encounter with a tiger shark (pictured) on video, uploading it to Tik Tok showing the shark in shallow water only one metre away The quartet was standing on the sand with Mr Lacey about to jump into the shallow water to go snorkeling when he saw the shark. 'We were just about to go for a snorkel and this big fella rolled in', Mr Lacey posted alongside the incredible footage. Affectionately known as 'ocean girl', Mr Lacey's 6 year old girl, Eva, is heard to shout, 'It's a shark! It's a hammerhead shark!' Wife and Mum Gemma Lacey, 25, was clearly shocked and is overheard saying: 'Oh my god, look!'. Comments on Mr Lacey's social media questioned what type of shark it was, before confirmation the big fish was indeed a tiger shark. 'Thank God you and the kids didn’t enter any further,' a friend posted after viewing the video. Mr Lacey told the Daily Mail Australia he estimated the shark to be about 2.5 to 3 metres long and said it 'hung around' the family more than an hour. Mr Lacey (pictured) was snorkeling with his family near Bottle Bay in Perth when he saw the shark, capturing it on video and uploading it to Tik Tok Although the family, who are keen campers, are accustomed to seeing nature up close, Mr Lacey admitted they weren't used to seeing a shark 'up that close'. Sharks attacks are not uncommon off the coast of Western Australia with spear fisherman Alex Dodds, 25, mauled by a great white pointer only two weeks ago near Leeman in the Beagle Islands about 260km north of Perth. Couple Gemma Lacey (pictured left) and Justin Lacey (pictured right) with their three kids 3, 6 and 8 are keen campers who love being up and close with nature in the Aussie outdoors The shark, estimated to be about four metres, left Mr Dodds with a 20cm gash on his leg under the knee, requiring more than 100 stitches. In late May, fisherman Brett Highlands, 48, was attacked by a three-metre tiger shark on the hand and forearm when diving about 50km north of Quondong Beach, near Broome. Behind the great white, tiger sharks are the second largest predatory shark and can grow to lengths of up to five metres. Gemma Lacey (pictured left) with Justin Lacey (right) with their three children were 'blown away' by their close encounter with the tiger shark that hung around the family for over an hour Tiger sharks are a common sighting around Bottle Bay and neighboring Shark Bay, both sites popular snorkeling, swimming, fishing, and camping tourist spots. Aggressive predators, tiger sharks are familiar residents of Bottle Bay, feeding on whiting, bream, and snapper - all caught in the local area.
