Police and politicians were urged to act to halt the bloodshed on our streets yesterday after two schoolboys were stabbed to death.

On a deadly day in the capital, a 15-year-old was hacked to death by at least five youths at a crowded bus stop in front of screaming children and commuters.

They watched in terror as the victim tried to defend himself with an umbrella.

Six hours later, a 16-year-old was stabbed to death outside his mother's home in an unrelated attack elsewhere in south London on Monday.
