A woman who was eight months pregnant when she was kidnapped from a Rio de Janeiro slum was found murdered next to a train track - but her baby was missing, a medical examiner's report has revealed.

Thaysa Campos, 23, vanished on September 3 last year after leaving her home to pick up a maternity bag at a friend's home.

Her body was found dumped on a train track in the Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Deodoro on September 10.

But an autopsy report this week revealed that there was no trace of her baby, and no cuts were found on her belly, leading to fears she may have been forced into labor before she died, Brazilian news portal Extra reports.
