More than a third of working adults have been given financial support by the Government during the pandemic, figures reveal today.
Around 14.5million jobs and individuals have been supported by initiatives such as the furlough scheme and help for the self-employed, figures compiled for the first anniversary of Rishi Sunak's Plan for Jobs programme show.
The Chancellor said the £352billion package, now starting to be wound down, had prevented the pandemic causing mass unemployment.
