Melbourne legend Rex Hunt has terminated his radio career in a blazing on-air row after a furious rant at his 'lightweight' bosses.

The veteran AFL commentator unloaded on 3AW's head of football Craig Moore mid-broadcast for pulling him up over a missed ad break during his show.

The footy and fishing show presenter hit back and screamed on air at the executive not to 'ring during my program, got it?'

The outburst came after an interview with 80s Hawthorn superstar Robert DiPierdomenico overran its timeslot.
