A 17-year-old boy is dead after being shot in the head by a road rage driver while he was on the way home from the Houston Astros baseball game on Tuesday night.

David Xavier Castro was on his way home from the game with his father Paul on Tuesday night when Paul and another driver 'exchanged hand gestures'.

It's unclear what led to their dispute but the other driver pulled out a gun and shot into the Castros' vehicle, wounding David in the head, then drove away.

Paul pulled over and called 911 and David was rushed to the hospital where he was put on life support.

On Wednesday night, Paul announced on Facebook that his son had died from his injuries.
