England is set for a Euro 2020 spending frenzy before the final against Italy on what has been dubbed 'Super Sunday' with fans paying £300 for a pub table and a whopping 13million pints set to be sunk on the day.

An estimated £3billion will be pumped into the nation's economy from bets, food and booze sales, with the average fan expected to spend £38 during the match and half-time alone.

Some diehard supporters are even willing to fork out £50 each for a good viewing spot at a six-person table, with Flat Iron Square in south London charging £300 for its 'premium table package'.

And the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) predicted that nearly 13million pints could be sold throughout the day on July 11 with 7.1million of those sunk during the match itself.

But fans will have to make sure to don their beer jackets if sitting outside, with conditions remaining unsettled in London and forecasters predicting a risk of showers during kick-off at 8pm.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson remains under mounting pressure to give workers a bank holiday if England win the Euro 2020 championship, with a petition set up yesterday passing the 300,000 mark this morning - but it would not be this coming Monday as it would be 'tempting fate'.

England's men's football team are now just one historic win away from their first major silverware since 1966 after their 2-1 triumph over Denmark on Wednesday.

Ciaran O'Malley, from the payment firm Trustly, told the Mirror: 'Research shows when England win the majority of fans spend even more so we're expecting a splurge of well over £3billion for Sunday's final.

'In fact, during the 90 minutes of the match and half-time alone, the average fan will spend £38. Given at least 20 million fans will watch the game, that two-hour period alone could be worth nearly £700million. Wallets, as well as heads, could feel sore on Monday morning.'

Despite the rocketing sales in pints, pubs are still set to lose out on £9million due to Covid restrictions, which mean they sell 2.4m fewer pints during the match than if they had already been removed, according to the BBPA.

Emma McClarkin, Chief Executive of the BBPA, said: 'After a 55 year wait, it is incredible to see England reach a tournament final. Sadly though, the restrictions still in place on pubs are going to greatly hinder any boost they could have hoped from it.

'We expect England fans to buy over 7 million pints during the match at the pub. However, if restrictions had been lifted already for the final, we think as many as 9.5 million pints could have been sold during the match.

'Only when the restrictions are removed can our pubs recover, but to do so they need Government investment to build back better.
