Two police officers have been taken to hospital after being stabbed on duty in the early hours of the morning.
The pair were responding to reports of an assault yesterday evening when they were stabbed near Burrator Avenue, in the Devon village of Princetown.
A 60-year-old man has been arrested this morning on suspicion of attempted murder.
Residents told PlymouthLive that one officer was stabbed in the arm, while the other was attacked from behind and stabbed in the back of the head.
A police source has indicated that neither of the West Devon constables' injuries are believed to be life-threatening, as the pair receive treatment in Derriford Hospital.
