In a first since the Covid pandemic began in early 2020, health officials have ordered NSW residents to stay within a certain radius of their homes.
From 5pm Friday locked down residents in Greater Sydney and surrounding regions have been told they cannot travel further than 10km from their house.
The tightened restrictions were announced as the city struggles to control an outbreak of the contagious Delta strain - with premier Gladys Berejiklian announcing 50 new cases on Saturday.
