Labour’s beleaguered deputy leader Angela Rayner is facing claims of double standards for accusing the Tories of doing their ‘developer donors’ bidding’ after taking cash herself from a property firm.
Ms Rayner seized on new figures last month showing the scale of building firms’ donations to the Tories to accuse the party of being in their pockets.
But her attack backfired after it emerged that the Greater Manchester MP had accepted a £10,000 donation from a developer to help fund her deputy leadership campaign last year.

Last night, Tory MP Alexander Stafford hit out at ‘the shameless hypocrisy of Labour’, adding: ‘There is nothing they won’t say for a quick media hit.’
