Police were called to a unit on Bondi Road, in the city's eastern suburbs at about 10.20am on Tuesday after reports a man had been attacked. The 52-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and was rushed to hospital with a punctured lung in a serious but stable condition. It was his day off when he was stabbed. It's understood another neighbour saw the man collapse into an alleyway and phoned police. It's unclear what motivated the attack, with the neighbour saying he had no idea why someone might try to harm him. 'We are very worried, he's our friend,' the resident said.
