A heroic surfer who revealed he was single in a viral interview on the Today Show in 2013 returned to the show this morning alongside his wife.
Angus McNicol from Byron Bay appeared on the breakfast show eight years ago after he and his friend Nick Chalmers bravely jumped into dangerous surf at Kirra to rescue a French couple who were caught in the wash near rocks.
The pair's interview went viral as Today Show host Karl Stefanovic burst into hysterical laughter at long-haired Angus's revelation that it felt 'really good' to rescue the female half of the couple.
Stefanovic later described McNicol as a 'woolly mammoth'.
