A popular fitness influencer died last week after undergoing an elective surgery to combat her constant sweating at an allegedly unlicensed medical office.

Mexican bodybuilder Odalis Santos Mena, 23, passed away on July 7 after undergoing the MiraDry treatment, which is advertised as a quick procedure that permanently reduces sweat and odor.

Mena had the procedure at the SkinPiel clinic in Guadalajara, Mexico after the medical practice reportedly recruited her to promote it.

She suffered cardiac arrest after receiving anesthesia and died shortly afterwards, the New York Post reports. SkinPiel employees attempted to perform CPR on Mena but were unable to revive her.
