At least 147 unaccompanied minors were caught illegally crossing the United States-Mexico border into southern Arizona, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Border Patrol agents found the children alongside a group of adults and families around 7:15am Wednesday near a stretch of border on the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation.
Most were identified as Guatemalan nationals. In all, 197 migrants were taken to a Border Patrol station in Tucson.

Since the start of fiscal year 2021 - which spans from October 2020 to September 2021 - there have been 95,079 single children detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the southwestern border. At least 65,411 have been apprehended during the last four months
It was the second time this week that the team of agents had encountered a group of children traveling alone.
On Monday, agents patrolling the border near Sababe, Arizona, stopped 48 undocumented migrants for unlawful entry.
